Accommodation

Elixir has selected six Deluxe Poolside rooms. These share access to a lovely pool. You can tiptoe across the terrace to take a dip before breakfast, or bask at the poolside on your doorstep.
All the rooms are fresh and bright, with floor to ceiling windows to make the most of the pool views.
There is a corner Junior Suite, which interconnects with a twin-bedded deluxe room; these rooms along with the other four have direct access to the pool. This arrangement is ideal for a couple with children, or for two couples travelling together.
Of the remaining four rooms, three have king-sized beds. The fourth is specially adapted for wheelchair users, though it can also be used by able-bodied guests.

Private beach

The hotel itself caused a stir when it first opened, because it brought a beach to the heart of Göcek. The owners imported sand from the Sahara desert – you might say it's more Maldives than Mediterranean.
Almost on the sea at the beach is the Breeze restaurant, which is rapidly becoming established as one of Göcek's more fashionable places to eat. It is a particular delight to sample the wickedly tempting menu as you gaze out across the sea to the dark islands beyond.
The beach is a ten-minute walk from the hotel, but there's a golf buggy service to shuttle you to and fro if you prefer. You could also just grab a bike and go. Göcek is flatter than Holland, so the hotel has a plentiful stock of complimentary bicycles to borrow.

Facilities

As well as your shared private pool, there's a large communal pool for those who want to stretch out for a long swim. There's also a very well-equipped gymnasium, and a spa offering an inviting and enticing selection of treatments, therapies and relaxation sessions.
Breakfast is served at The Olive Tree Restaurant in the main building.

Local attractions

Gocek is a fabulous place from which to take a trip aboard a gullet. Gocek bay is populated with a family of twelve picturesque islands. A cruise threading its way languidly between them is a wonderful combination of relaxing tranquillity and aesthetic delight, many have sandy beaches, some with delightful restaurants and some are historically significant, you could visit Cleopatra’s Island, said to have been a gift to the Egyptian beauty from Mark Anthony. The ruins of her “hammam” - the Turkish Bath - are still to be found here and indeed, bathed in. Not forgetting:

• The ancient city of Caunos
• The loggerhead turtles, who use this area for breeding
• The Butterfly Valley
• The mud baths and Lycian rock tombs at Dalyan
• The ruins of five Lycian cities in the Xanthos Valley

Gocek has well-kept seafront jazz bars and bistros, small boutiques, well-stocked little shops and a clean and pretty market square. A walk along the palm tree-lined promenade, with the coastal hills rising all around you and bowsprits of all kinds bobbing maritime greeting to you, is a delight.
