Mystic, opulent and magical.  The tale of many an early Christian can be told by the enormously heavy stone that separates the rooms.  Now moved by remote control – then, by frightened humans fearful for their life…   Silken velvet covers for the king size bed, marble statuettes gothic style carvings, bathroom fit for a sultan and an open fireplace.

Shaman

Shamanic rituals aside – this suite screams ‘cosy comfort’.  There’s something satisfying seeing the marks make by the artisan on every piece of furniture and wall space.  The bath polished out of one giant piece of meteorite, the cobbled hallway and the wooden beams offer just small hints of the stunning amount of love and care to create this unique atmosphere.

The King’s Ego

Ornate, Rococo style furniture carved out of solid blocks of wood, statues and busts, augur a holiday break never before experienced.  Every inch seemingly so casually decorated with paintings, mirrors and furniture belies the careful thought put into making this suite something to remember.  The mezzanine level encourages light through its window while sipping your favourite tipple or beverage.  Reminiscent of days of yore the ‘King’s Ego’, is reserved for the couple who understands that a short break should not compromise one’s standards and is especially suited to those who like a more no nonsense masculine décor.

The Byzantium Treasury

Bold brass, stone and wood imperial style carvings stand out in sharp relief against hand hewn walls and brickwork.  Large candelabra vie with the modernity of electric to cast their own atmospheric shadows onto the nook and cranny of the statues.  Onyx surrounds the sunken bath while the rich fabrics of brocade in the large double bed warm both in comfort and style.

Allegory of Jealousy

The bed in ‘Allegory of Jealousy’ invitingly stands opposite the grand fireplace.  Furnished in understated luxury, there’s a cosy corner for the must have tête-à-tête that only time away together can offer.  The large marbled floor en-suite sports a standalone copper bath contrasted by the richness of the marble sink do serve to give that added bonus of comfort.
