The Brochure

We take every reasonable step to ensure the accuracy of our brochure and are confident that all the information is correct at the time of going to print. However, during the validity of the brochure, certain facilities or services may change. There may be times especially during the low season, when certain advertised facilities and amenities – swimming pools, shops, restaurants, bars, etc. | may not be fully operational due to lack of demand or prevailing local circumstances. Elixir cannot be held responsible for such situations that are outside a tour operator’s control although clients will be advised of these prior to departure, whenever possible. Should such an event occur during your holiday, however, our local representatives at the resorts will do their best to rectify the situation.

Accommodation

Accommodation in all hotels, whatever the grading, is based on the standard room category, unless otherwise stated. The bed configuration remains at the discretion of the hotel and whilst special requests, such as that for either double or twin beds will be forwarded to the hotel, they cannot be fully guaranteed. Please note that when an additional bed is requested e.g. a third person sharing a room, it is a foldaway style.
Small and friendly accommodation may often be better in our opinion than a large international hotel. Price is a general indication of standard although we have in most cases negotiated very good rates.it is important not to base your expectations on experiences of another country or destination.

Check In/Check Out Times

Generally rooms and cabins will be available for occupation between noon and 3 pm and should be vacated before noon irrespective of your arrival and departure times, unless we have stated otherwise. Sometimes it is possible to arrange late check-out subject to availability and extra cost.

Views

Rooms may be partly blocked by trees or buildings and it should be noted that a view cannot be guaranteed as completely unobstructed. The view may be obtained from the accommodation or its balcony, patio, terrace or garden.

Air-Conditioning

It is at the discretion of the hotel management so may be limited to certain times of the year.

Villas

Gas, electricity, water and heating are included within the cost of your holiday. Linen is normally changed twice weekly.

Flights

Any information in this brochure is provisional and subject to change. Confirmation at time of booking is made in good faith but details should be determined from your airline ticket. Since the brochure is printed far in advance of the holiday departure, and often a holiday is booked far in advance, it may be necessary to change the airline or the aircraft type or the times for reasons beyond our control. This will be passed on to you in advance when known.  Such charges will not entitle you to cancel or change to another holiday without paying our normal cancellation charge (see Booking Conditions).

Elixir guests traveling on our main scheduled flight with Monarch Airlines from Gatwick to Dalaman on Saturdays: non-refundable deposit GBP 350 per person. All other charter flights and scheduled Turkish & British Airways tickets need to be issued as soon as the booking is made. Should this be the case, we will need to take a non-refundable deposit covering our normal deposit of GBP 350 per person plus the total cost of your airfare in order to confirm your reservation. Please note that all flight timings are liable to change & final timings should be taken from your tickets.

Delays

If you experience a flight delay it is unlikely that the hotel will make a refund for any unused accommodation and the airline concerned will not normally accept any financial responsibility for lost time during your holiday. Elixir cannot be held responsible for any delays that occur during your holidays, but it may be possible for you to claim from your holiday insurance when you return to the UK.

Name Changes

Please note that once your flight has been booked it is not usually possible to change it without incurring a charge. You may be charged up to the full value of the original ticket. The name shown on your ticket should exactly match your name as it appears on your passport. Therefore it is essential to make sure all names are given correctly at the time of making your booking.

Holiday Documentation

All clients are responsible for ensuring that they have a valid passport and must obtain visas where applicable.

Passport & Vi9sa Requirements

British citizens are required to be in possession of a ten-year passport with six months validity beyond the due return date. Children are now required to have their own passports’. British passport holders are required to purchase a visa upon arrival to Turkey. The charge is £10 sterling per person (children and infants must pay this too) payable in £ sterling. For the most up-to date information see the UK Passport Office website www.passport.gov.uk. Other nationals must verify visa requirements with their own particular Consulate.

Vaccinations

There are no compulsory inoculations required to enter Turkey but you should check with your GP for up to the minute information.

Photographs

Photographs used give an overall impression of the accommodation or resort areas rather than to be specific. For example an item of furniture that appears in the photograph may have been removed from the accommodation.

Electricity

Depending on your location, there may be blackouts. Please be patient whilst the hotel rectifies the situation.

Local Representatives

Where possible we do provide local representatives to look after our guests during their stay. They are based in Istanbul and Cappadocia and are supported by our head office in Kas. Due to the well-travelled clientele we cater for, this service is deliberately low-key and the primary function is to provide airport transfers, local advice and deal with problems.

Transfers

The price of your holiday includes all transfers in Turkey, including two and multi-centre holidays.
Transfer times are as follows:
DALAMAN to Gocek 15 minutes; Fethiye/Hillside Beach Club 1 hour; Kalkan 1 hour 35 minutes; Kas 1 hour 55 minutes; Bozburun 1 hour 45 minutes; D-Maris 1 hour 55 minutes; ISTANBUL to City Centre 30 minutes; KAYSERI to Cappadocia 55 minutes. ANTALYA to City Centre 15 minutes, Kas 2.5 hours. All transfer times shown are approximate and dependent on local conditions such as traffic, weather etc.

Children and Infants

Infants under the age of two on the date of return travel are carried free on our charter flights providing they are not occupying a seat. On scheduled flights there is a charge of £90 per infant. Infants must be included on a booking as they require a flight ticket, but they do not qualify for any baggage allowance.

Rates for Children

Discounts for children are based on their ages. When you book, we ask for dates of birth and accept them in good faith. However, if any discrepancies become apparent once you arrive at the hotel, then the hotel reserves the right to change the full rack rate for the child, payable direct to the hotel. We regret we cannot accept any liability in these circumstances.

  • ATOL Protection Contribution (APC)
  • 20 kilos baggage allowance per person (excluding infants)
  • All airport taxes and security charges
  • Transfer between the overseas airport and resort accommodation, including water taxis where appropriate and between resorts on multi-centre holidays
  • A welcome hamper on self-catering holidays (first resort only)

In-Flight meals

In 2012 all Monarch Airlines to Turkey will be on a schedule basis.  While Elixir Holidays’ clients will still have the benefit of a 20 Kg baggage allowance, the airline has decided to expand on their in-flight meal choices by offering clients a retail service.  They can choose their breakfast, lunch and dinner (dependent on time of travel), directly online or during their flight.  This service is offered up to 24 hours before departure.

Advance Passenger Information

The UK government requires Advanced Passenger Information from all passengers traveling internationally into and out of the UK. Advance Passenger Information means your passport/identity card details and in some instances, your contact information, are provided to the authorities before you travel. The Airlines will only provide each country’s customs and Immigration Authorities with the required relevant information. Some governments also require airlines to provide them with direct access to airline passenger bookings which may contain other passenger data. It is important that the information provided is accurate so you pass through Immigration on arrival without delay. You must provide this information when you check-in and we strongly recommend that you do so in advance of going to the airport.

How to Pay

Credit cards: a 2.5% charge is applied to all credit card transactions for administrative reasons. We accept Amex, Visa and MasterCard. Debit cards: are accepted without charge or discount.
 
Booking Form

We do not require a Booking Form to be completed. Once initial payment has been received we will forward a Booking Confirmation by post. We would ask you to check this very carefully as it will carry the full details for your holiday and travel documentation.

Mini Cruise and Private Yacht Charters

The final itinerary will be determined by the Captain in accordance with prevailing local circumstance. Photographs show the gulets with sails erected, you are reminded that gulets operate with motors so the sails are largely aesthetic. Gulets are not air-conditioned during the night when power to the generator is switched off. We reserve the right to amend the itinerary, alter the point of embarkation and/or disembarkation due to operational reasons.  

Two Centre Holidays ;Combine Istanbul with our coastal resorts or Cappadocia – Three or Four days exploring the fascinating city of Istanbul prior to hopping on a domestic flight for a week or ten days in one of our charming properties provides a real insight to Turkey and its diverse culture, you return to Istanbul on the final day to meet your flight home. We always use scheduled flights for multi-centre holidays, giving you the flexibility to add extra nights to your holiday – rather than charter flights – which restrict you to pre-set dates.

However, if you book a holiday, combining Istanbul with the Mediterranean coast of Cappadocia, then please be aware that the Hotels outside Istanbul will be of a different character and style. In the city, you will experience high class international hotel standards. In the provinces, you will experience a more informal and friendly style, you will be staying at the best hotels in the region and the essential qualities required to meet the rigorous standards of Elixir will still be there, but they will be expressed in a way more appropriate to life by the sea or in the countryside.
